Health and Fitness Reality Check.

I think having your friends and family around is much healthier than exercising vigorously. I mean you can still exercise but would;t it be more fun to exercise with your friends or family? When you hang out with friends for example go shopping, play sports together, etc. you are already exercising without even knowing it. Also when you are stressed out, family and friends will always be there. You can also reduce stress from exercising lightly. According to ADAA survey in 2008, 18% of people reported that that they relieve stress by talking to family and friends, and 29% said they relieve stress by walking. Plus hanging out with the people you are comfortable with releases dopamine in your brain, which makes you feel good. Over all, I think being with your loved ones is more healthier than exercising vigorously alone, at least when you do something together, you get both exercise and having fun.

What I think of P.E

So far, everything seems great for me. Although when people don't really come to class is kind of a bummer especially when it's choice day or we're having a game as a class. I also like that we sometimes join Ms. Phillips class which is fun. The more the better. On fitness day is so-so. I don't really have a last longing stamina so I get tired eventually, but I know to increase my stamina is to keep my heart rate at a constant and do what I think I can do that will last me almost through out the period. Over all I think this class is pretty good.

Interm Report

P.E is fun. My attendance in my class is pretty perfect I barely miss out on P.E. I almost always bring my PE strip but sometimes I forget it. My contribution in class is positive. I always bring a positive attitude in class and be friendly to everyone. I talk to people who seem that they don't talk a lot maybe because they don't have any of their close friends in the PE class. In every activity we have, I do my best to have fun and go all out. Going all out is more fun than not trying and just standing around. Sports like Lacrosse that I have never tried before, I had the opportunity to try that through PE, and I loved it. However, people who consider to do not to do the activity with the class affects me. There are some people who doesn't want to do it either they are not good at it or they just want to socialize something like that. But I can't really go have fun if others doesn't want to do it. Yesterday, I had fun playing handball since all of the people playing there were participating. Right now I've been enjoying my PE class and I like to see a change where everyone participate.

My Personal Life

* My favorite part of PE is…
When we get to play games that makes me sweat and work. I also like it when I can participate because some games the guys get pretty dominant. I get to move around instead sitting in a chair for an hour and a half.

*I think my current current level of fitness is…

Ok. I can probably jog for 5 minutes straight. I haven't done any major physical work over the past semester. However, my level of fitness will improve as semester 2 goes by.

*My previous personal best beep test is...
I'm pretty proud of this level because I never expect myself to reach this level. I would like to beat this level to maybe 7 or 8.

*I am currently doing the following things to be active (outside of PE)…
I walk home to school which takes me about 30 minutes to reach my house. I take Arnis (martial arts) for 2 hours, every Saturday.

*Things that PHYSICALLY prevent me from doing exercise (i.e. medical, injury)

I don't have any medical conditions but the only thing that is preventing me from exercising is my brother. I have to take care of him after school.

*Things that MENTALLY prevent me from doing exercise (i.e. energy, time)
The time prevents me from doing exercise. I also have other subjects that I have homework to do.i
*My eating habits are…
Pretty good. Sometimes when you're watching tv you want something to munch on while watching, I avoid that. We have salad ingredients in our fridge, so if I have nothing to eat, I'll prepare myself salad. I eat breakfast almost every morning, but if I'm running late for school I don't have time to eat. I bring my own food to school.mi stopped eating at the cafeteria last year in gr.9. For dinner, out meal pretty much always have some kind of vegetable, meat product, and grain.

*I Want to be able to learn more about
How did the people discover milk?

*I want to improve my abilities in…
 My running and stamina.

*Outside school activities I’d like to try are...
Basketball, dance, gun range.

*My fitness goals for the semester are…
My running and stamina.

*My personal character goals are...
None.

How to be a great Digital citizen.

What is Digital citizenship?

Digital citizenship is about how to understand and use the technology properly. It helps and teaches students/technology users, what responsibility they have when they use technology. In modern day, we see a lot of people misusing and abusing technology and not know what the consciences are. It is important to know how to use technology and not abuse it.

Too Much Information and Plagiarism

Once people hit publish, post, or send , etc., any button that will publish anything, even this poster, to the public for everyone to see, it would stay there forever. Today, people answer anything without conscious, for example, the question, "Where do you live?" They would answer this personal question without thinking that people can have access to their information. If its on the internet, then it's not as private as people think.

However today, social networks offers privacy. But just because they have a private account doesn't mean no one can access it. Expert hackers with no good intensions can hack through the private account. So even though its private, don't put too much information. Hackers can now access webcams either on a laptop or desktop. They can film the person on the computer and also, can get information just from watching two people Skype each other.

There is a lot of laws when it comes to the world of technology and internet. One big thing is plagiarism. Plagiarism is when a person takes someone else's work or idea's and passing it their own. A person can be in serious troouble when caught plagiarising. If a student is caught, their future is basically on the line. At a young age, they might already have a criminal record. It would get harder to get a job or get into college or univeristy. Whatever you got in the internet, always adress where the information came from.

The Nine Elements

  1. Digital Access: full electronic participation in society.
  2. Digital Commerce: electronic buying and sellingof goods.
  3. Digital Communication: electronic exchange of information.
  4. Digital Literacy: process of teaching and learning about technology and the use of it.
  5. Digital Etiquette: electronic standards of conduct or procedure.
  6. Digital Law: electronic responsibility for actions and deeds.
  7. Digital Rights & Responsibilities: those freedom extended to everyone in the digital world
  8. Digital Health & Wellness: physical and phycological well being in a digital techonology world.
Digital Security: electronic precaution to guarantee safety.
Ways to be a great Digital Citizen

  1. Think before you post: Like I have stated before, everything is not private. So before posting any pictures or answering any personal question think, "is this too much information?" Keep in mind that once it's posted, it stays there forever.
  2. Don't copy anything without adressing: Plagiarism is taken seriously now a days. If caught a person can be criminaly charge. So if you are posting or writing anything, always adress where you got the information. Its better to adress where you got the information rather than have a criminal record.
  3. Privacy: Social Network offers privacy now. Always have the privacy active. Even though hackers can still hack it, at least they'll have a difficult time. Also, even though you have the privacy setting on, still don't put too much information.
  4. Warn others: Don't just keep important information about the web world, warn others on what the consequences. Tell and share what you know and what to look out for.
  5. Against the Law: Never use technology for all the wrong reasons. In our modern world, technology is easy to track, it leaves digital footprints. Once caught, authorities can give hard verdicts, and an expensive fine.

P.E

The whole year has been great! Ms.Phillips was a great and fun teacher. I loved my classmate specially since my cousin is there. The whole year has been a great experience and I would like to have Ms.Phillip as my P.E teacher again, if I can. Also we played a lot of games, I specially liked the one when its just all girls. I made a lot of new grade 8 friends. They are fun and funny to be around with. I felt proud that I maintained my letter grade, even though the grades doesn't matter. But I think the students were raised to care about the letter grade and not what they can or cant do. Also most of can not evaluate ourselves, because we don't want to sound cocky or anything. I think, just give yourself whatever letter grade and explain why you deserve that. I didn't really like fitness that much, but I always try my best. I can out of breath easily, and the thought of "I can't go anymore," puts me down. I think I'm tired so I take a rest and everyone just kept on going. I like beep test, not really. I just don't like the original one, where I can't have breaks. I wanted to keep going but if I did then that's kind of cheating. I wanted to be at least at level 6 but that didn't happen, but I hope next school year I can reach my goal. I personally like the blogs instead of interviews. Right when there's an interview, I would just blank out and can't think of anything else. Over all I think I deserve an A. I hope we keep this blog post longer. Lastly, I hope everyone has a great summer. :)
